What Is Hypnosis?

 

  • A natural state of mind we go in and out of during waking hours

  • An extraordinary quality of mental, physical, and emotional relaxation, with few, if any, thoughts.

 

  • A focused state of mind such as:

    • Daydreaming: when your mind drifts off, losing track of time or surroundings

    • Highway Hypnosis: driving on a familiar route and realizing you don't remember part of the journey because your mind was elsewhere.

    •  â€‹â€‹â€‹As in "being in the flow", little thought yet in a highly focused, creative, and productive state of mind,

  • In hypnosis, one can hear and respond to others, much like when engrossed in a movie or TV program where someone might need to call a few times to get their attention.
